Who are we?

No Data Centers San Gabriel Valley is a coalition of residents, community organizations, and advocates working to protect the health, safety, and quality of life of communities across the San Gabriel Valley. We formed in response to the rapid expansion of large industrial data center proposals throughout the region, often advanced without meaningful public input or regional planning.

Our coalition brings together neighbors from multiple cities who believe that decisions about massive infrastructure projects should prioritize community well-being, environmental protection, and long-term sustainability. Data centers place heavy demands on electricity and water systems, introduce industrial infrastructure into residential areas, and create risks that surrounding communities are often forced to bear.

We advocate for transparency, strong environmental review, and local policies that prevent harmful developments before they take root. Through public education, community organizing, and engagement with local governments, we are working to ensure that the San Gabriel Valley remains a place where residents, not corporations, shape the future of our communities.

Call to Action: Attend the Covina Council Meeting

Tuesday, April 7 at 7:30 PM

Join us on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:30 PM at Covina City Hall to speak out during public comment and demand NO BESS in our community.

City Council Meeting
Covina City Hall
125 E College Street
Covina, CA 91723

The Covina City Council will be electing a new mayor on April 7, and this meeting is a critical opportunity for residents and community members to make their voices heard. We are asking people to show up to Covina City Hall (125 E College Street) and use public comment to oppose the proposed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at 522 East Edna Place.

BESS facilities bring serious concerns, including fire risks, environmental impacts, and proximity to residential areas. Decisions like these shape the future of our neighborhoods, and public comment is one of the most direct ways to influence elected officials. By showing up together, we demonstrate that the community is paying attention and will not accept harmful projects being pushed forward without accountability.

This is a key moment to advocate for safer, community-centered planning. Bring your voice, bring your neighbors, and help make it clear: BESS does not belong in Covina.

Call to Action: Rally and Protest City of Industry

Saturday, April 11 at 10:00 AM

We invite you to attend City of Industry City Hall for the upcoming City Council meeting and make the community’s voice heard.

Peter F. Schabarum Regional Park
17250 Colima Road
Rowland Heights, CA 91748

POSTPONED:

Community members from across the San Gabriel Valley are coming together for a family-friendly rally and protest against the City of Industry’s push for large-scale data centers and battery storage projects. These developments threaten our air quality, increase noise and pollution, strain local resources, and impact surrounding communities far beyond city boundaries.

We will meet near the entrance of Schabarum Regional Park (17250 Colima Rd, Rowland Heights) before moving and remaining on the sidewalk along Colima Road. This is a chance to show collective opposition, raise visibility, and build momentum for a regional movement to protect our communities. Bring signs, bring your neighbors, and stand with others across the SGV to make it clear that data centers do not belong here.

Please be aware of parking restrictions. The parking lots at the Puente Hills Mall and other shopping centers are private. You may be asked to leave or your car may be towed.

Call to Action: Attend the Monterey Park City Council Meeting

Wednesday, April 20 at 7:00 PM

We invite you to attend Monterey Park City Hall for the upcoming City Council meeting and make the community’s voice heard.

City Council Meeting
Monterey Park City Hall
320 W Newmark Ave, Monterey Park

The agenda will include a Council Action Ordinance to ban data centers citywide.

If approved, this ordinance would immediately prohibit data centers in Monterey Park and also strengthen and support the upcoming ballot measure in which voters will decide whether to ban data centers.

This is a key moment. Attend the meeting and speak during public comment to urge the City Council to adopt the ordinance, immediately protect our community, and support residents’ right to decide the future of the city through the vote.
